Tom Berkley Joins Pender & Coward and Expands Maritime, Admiralty and Transportation Practice
Virginia Beach, Va. – Pender & Coward is proud to announce that Tom Berkley has joined the firm as a shareholder.
Berkley focuses his practice in the areas of maritime, admiralty and transportation. He routinely advises marine terminals, shipyards, ship lines, and trucking and cargo interests on operational, contract, insurance and liability issues. Berkley also has experience representing commercial fishing associations, maritime construction companies, P&I Clubs and recreational boaters.
An active supporter of the maritime and transportation communities, Berkley is a member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States, the South Eastern Admiralty Law Institute, the Virginia Maritime Association, the Hampton Roads Global Commerce Council and the Norfolk Propeller Club.
Berkley received the Norfolk-Portsmouth Bar Association’s Walter E. Hoffman Community Service Award, was included in Inside Business’ Top 40 Under 40 and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America for Admiralty and Maritime for the last six years. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his Juris Doctor from William & Mary Law School.
